2012 AAF-SUNCOAST AD STUDENT OF THE YEAR SCHOLARSHIP: $1000
AAF-Suncoast is proud to be able to offer one $1000 scholarship to a deserving student pursuing a degree in advertising, marketing, graphic design or communications. The scholarship will be awarded in installments of $500 per semester for 2 semesters. Eligible students must apply by February 3, 2012.
Eligibility Requirements
Candidates must:
- Be enrolled as a full-time student (taking 12 credit hrs or more per semester) at a college or university located within one of the following counties: Sarasota, Manatee or DeSoto
- Be returning to undergraduate or graduate study in the Fall of 2012
- Have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or better on a 4.0 scale
- Be pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree in advertising, marketing, graphic design, communications or a related major
Application Details
Candidates meeting the eligibility requirements listed above should download and complete the PDF Application. The completed application must be submitted with the following:
- Copy of transcript (unofficial is fine)
- One-page resume
- 3 samples of related work (ex: ads, design projects, writing samples) – please provide BOTH color print outs and JPEG/PDF files on a CD
- A letter of recommendation from a faculty member, dean or internship supervisor.
- A personal statement of 250 words answering the following question:
- In today’s era of consumer generated content, why should clients continue to look to your industry for creative solutions?
The deadline for submitting a scholarship application is 5:00 p.m. on February 3, 2012. Applications can be dropped off at the Ringling College of Art + Design Faculty Center in the mailbox for Vivian Owen. If mailed, please send to the address below. Mailed applications must be postmarked by February 3, 2012.

All applicants will receive an email acknowledgement that their application has been received. The scholarship winner will be announced at the AAF-Suncoast ADDY Awards Gala on February 23, 2012.
